Addenbrookes appoints Social Value Coordinator - Kieran Mills

Kieran Mills began working with One Retail, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland within its Costa Coffee store at Addenbrookes Hospital. He balanced this part-time role with his University studies, at Cambridge where he has been studying Zoology.

Having been with the organisation for five years, Kieran has taken on Barista training and last year he entered into the Barista of the Year competition, making the finals. Kieran was also invited to support Costa at the recent Paris Olympics, where he spent two weeks serving coffee to the athletes. He then worked as a Supervisor within the hospital, to deliver great customer service to those who visit or work in the hospital.

Kieran has recently been promoted to the role of Social Value Coordinator within Addenbrookes for Compass One, One Retail. Kieran has a huge passion for this subject and wants his first full-time role after University to reflect these interests.

Kieran will officially graduate in April 2025. Once he has finished his studies, he will be enrolled onto our Compass post Graduate programme. The Graduate scheme will facilitate Kieran in following his interest of having a positive environmental and social value impact, alongside learning and developing within a large and diverse organisation.

Kieran said: “This is something I am really passionate about and it has been great to get involved with sustainability events at Addenbrookes, as well as the Grounds to Grow project. These are things that can make an impact and I am looking forward to gaining even more momentum around this activity.”
