Medirest named Healthcare Caterer of the Year at the Foodservice Cateys Awards
Medirest has been crowned winner of the 2024 Healthcare Caterer of the Year category, at the prestigious Foodservice Cateys event, which took place on Friday 11th October 2024.
The Foodservice Cateys are an annual awards ceremony that recognises individuals, teams and businesses that are making a difference in the foodservice industry - and tirelessly delivering exceptional service day in, day out.
The award was open to contract and local authority catering businesses of all sizes that operate in the healthcare sector, including hospitals and care catering settings. The judging criteria included looking at fresh innovation and value to clients and customers over the last 12 months.
Medirest, the healthcare division of Compass Group UK & Ireland, clinched this year’s trophy for its outstanding work on several innovative projects. These included a digital dining transformation at Springfield University Hospital in London and its Wellspring restaurant at Barnet Hospital, which created a wellbeing hub with a wellness garden for staff and visitors.

Judge, Neel Radia, Chair of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) commented on Medirest’s win: “Superb digital innovation that is unique in the NHS and an important element to meet future sustainability targets.”
