Medirest shortlisted for the 2025 HSJ Partnerships Awards

Medirest, the healthcare division of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has been shortlisted for the Patient Engagement and Experience Initiative of the Year, within the HSJ Partnership Awards. This is in recognition of their teams outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.

Now in their eighth year, the HSJ Partnership Awards, have become the most recognised and respected mark of the strongest relationships between suppliers and the NHS.

Following the thorough judging process, Medirest’s team was named for ‘Positive Impressions’™ at Sherwood Forest NHS Trust. Medirest was included in 180+ organisations, projects and individuals that made the final shortlist amid over 280 entries logged for the 2025 awards programme.

Sherwood Forest NHS Trust and Medirest implemented the Positive Impressions™ initiative to ensure patients feel safe, respected and cared for. The initiative measures and enhances patients’ experiences, with feedback captured and reviewed in near real-time. Staff can then respond rapidly and exceed patient expectations, for example teams could receive comments on menu items, which enable action for Chefs to further develop dishes.

The framework delivers staff training customised to each site’s patient profile, with a true focus on their experience. It enables managers to share clear performance scores and praise to high-performing staff, reinforcing the value of patient-centred care, resulting in the Trust’s PLACE scores exceeding the national average.

Positive Impressions™ has been rolled out across other Medirest partner Trusts, and its concept has been shared internationally.

The selected winners will be announced during the awards at Evolution London on 20th March 2025.
