One Retail has raised over £500k in its partnership with Alzheimer’s Society
One Retail, part of Compass Group UK and Ireland celebrated raising over £500k to support Alzheimer’s Society.
A number of different fundraising efforts have taken place throughout the years from bake sales to colleagues running the London marathon, as well as the annual May campaign of the sale of “Forget me not” pin badges and the tradition of Elf Week.
The One Retail team have had its most successful fundraising year to date with one significant donation coming from Nathan Ashworth’s 2024 London Marathon – raising over £23,000.
The team fundraises for Alzheimer’s Society’s frontline Dementia Advisers who provide vital one-to-one support for people affected by dementia. The charity aims to transform the landscape of dementia forever.
Nicci Lauder, General Manager for One Retail – Royal Derby Hospital who leads the charity work commented: “It has been a fantastic effort from all the teams in contributing to this figure. Overall we have raised £523,842 for Alzheimer’s Society. It is a true partnership and the relationship we have with them is second to none – bouncing ideas off each other, looking at optimising the activities and how the funds are used.”
Dawn Bell, General Manager for One Retail - RVI Hospital said: “This charity is very close to my heart and I am proud to be part of an organisation supporting this worthwhile cause. Last year I lost my father to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). He deteriorated very rapidly which was a real shock to my family.
“I have had other members of my family affected by different types of dementia, so it’s important that fundraising continues to drive research and support in this area.”
Andrew Jones, MD One Retail said: “Over the years our support and partnership with Alzheimer’s Society has continued to strengthen. Our amazing people love to work with this amazing charity and we are very proud of the significant value we have created through this partnership. We are delighted to celebrate this milestone and look forward to many more fundraising events.”
